Abundant Life Well-Being

Lea is committed to the education of the community in all aspects of Oriental Medicine.  A basic “Oriental Medicine Emergency Kit” has been developed containing oriental herbal patent medicines.  These are over the counter medicines found in China’s pharmacies.  The included printed material is intended to help people understand and safely use basic Chinese medicines in their daily lives.  These herbal patents can be used for things like:  minor cuts and bruises, stomachaches, or to prevent colds.  In general, Chinese herbs are gentle, working with the body’s own resources to prevent illnesses and imbalances.

Lea created a list for you of some of her favorite products she keeps in her own home medicine cabinet to have handy at the moment needed. These items are intended to be used for mild problems.  For any prolonged, chronic or severe symptoms see your healthcare professional.

Use:  Apply directly to bleeding wound.  For cuts, pour powder on, squeeze cut together, apply pressure and hold for 1 to 2 minutes.

- Lea's 2007 experience: I had just moved and still had just my suitcases and no first aid kit items. It was early morning when I accidentally sliced my finger. It was one of those horizontal slices creating a flap of skin and a lot of bleeding. I applied pressure, but it continued to bleed. I knew the natural food store in Kailua-Kona (closed now) carried a small inventory of TCM products so after an hour I drove there and waited almost another hour for them to open for the day. The bleeding had not abated with the continued pressure throughout that time. I applied a sprinkle of Yun Nan Pai Yao powder inside the cut and applied pressure again. In less than a half-minute, the bleeding was greatly diminished. Within a minute it had stopped completely. I sprinkled more Yun Nan Pai Yao on top before bandaging it. The cut became pain-free within a day and healed in about half the time of prior  similar cuts. My clients have reported similar happy results over the years.
